IBUPROFEN/BENADRYL® – View Acetaminophen Dosages

Ibuprofen

  • Below are recommended doses for Ibuprofen
  • All doses are determined by weight, not age
  • Always check the label for the type of medicine you are giving, as well as the concentration
  • Make sure you do not mix medications of the same components
  • Call the office before giving any medicine to an infant less
  • than 3 months of age

Ibuprofen is the active ingredient in Advil® or Motrin®. It is used to decrease pain and swelling and to reduce fever. It should NOT be used for infants under 6 months of age. These products can be given every 6-8 hours.

Benadryl® (diphenhydramine)
Benadryl® (diphenhydramine) is used for allergic reactions, hives, and to reduce itchiness associated with certain rashes. It can be given every 6-8 hours.
